“Maybe today you are in a situation that is painful or perhaps even devastating. Perhaps you have been badly hurt and you are feeling terribly alone or even abandoned. Let me assure you that you are not alone. God has promised, ‘I will never leave you or forsake you’ (Hebrews 13:5). There are times when we have to remind ourselves again and again of that promise. Naturally, under adverse circumstances our feelings tell us differently, but out faith is built on facts and our feelings must take second place. The facts of God’s love and faithfulness are permanent. Our feelings are temporary. God is the God who cares for His children. He cares for us more than we will ever know. We are not called to understand, but we are called to trust. God knows us. He understands us. He knows all about our circumstances and has made numerous promises to care for us. God has always been faithful to His Word and we have no reason to believe it will ever change.”
